Personally speaking..........

Teaching has always been a great passion of mine. I started teaching elementary school at 21 years old and received my Master’s in Education with great enthusiasm in Curriculum and Instruction. As life presented itself, I was blessed enough to have two beautiful children and able to take a leave of absence from teaching to raise my boys.

While this was an amazing opportunity to stay at home, I also picked up the hobby of photography. This hobby became a passion for me. In a couple years I created a viable, profitable and amazing professional photography business. My business became so successful that images are published in national and international magazines. I also was awarded several international awards for images at the world’s largest photography convention Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI). During this time I was also asked to teach and mentor at this same convention as well as many other venues. I created curriculum for hobbyist and professionals out of my Irvine studio and married the love of teaching with this business.

In the past 10 years, I have become a top wedding and portrait photographer in Orange County. While I love this very much, I find myself wanting to educate again. In order to refresh myself I became a substitute teacher for Irvine Unified School District and Saddleback Unified School District while actively pursuing a more permanent teaching position. I was hired earlier this year to teach  at Tustin Unified School District as a middle school teacher.

Teaching is in my soul. Teaching Photography is what makes my heart beat. I am so excited and thrilled to share my knowledge of photography. I love that I am able to use my formal education to create an amazing standards based curriculum for future photographers.
